Welcome to Georgia.
One last time swimming in the Black Sea, before we turn right into the Georgian mountain landscape.
The first night we asked at one house next to the road, if we could set up our tent in their garden. Immediately we were invited to sleep inside the house.
A huge caterpillar, more the 10 cm long.
One of the old bridges. It is famous because it’s so narrow.
Good restaurant, good food, good price, and beer.
The weather changed a lot and showed us, where we can find the golden pot.
Camping in a garden.
On our way to Goderdzi pass. Sadly the road got worse and worse. We had to climb up to 2025m. At this day we only cycled 30 km in 5 hours.
Small Georgian market.
We asked for bread at the market, but they didn’t have any. So one guy took us to a party. They celebrated their new house and everyone was invited to eat. It was delicious and now we had enough power to climb to the top.
Cap exchange.
5 km before reaching the pass, we met 6 guys from Italy. They cycled a one week circle from Batumi. We became a bit jealous about their light luggage.
The landscape is beautiful.
Finally after a long day we reached the top. Goderdzi pass. 🙂
In Georgia you see cows everywhere. This is the prettiest.
Georgian soccer. It was the day, when Germany lost against France.
We had more luck than the Germans. We were invited by two old nice women. Mother (84) and daughter (64).
Writing diary. We slept above the cows.
The next morning started rainy. All the way down from Goderdzi pass the road was more a river than a road. We had the same speed like going up.
Small restaurant.. warming up with coffee and cheese pancakes.
Typical Georgian bread. Very tasty.
